Found your group by accident when I was looking up information on the, you guessed it, The Lone Star Quartet. I grew up in northeast Texas, attended the Stamps Quartet School of Music in Dallas, grew up in singing schools, singing conventions, etc. I've known Jack Taylor for years and remember Burt Carroll when he sang with the Stamps-Baxter male quartet in Dallas. Love your singing and would love for you to come our way for concerts. Texas southern gospel music fans would welcome your group with great appreciation and enthusiasm.

To whom this might concern I am asking if your group will be coming to the Dallas Fort Worth, Texas area anytime in the near future?? If you do come this way I am looking forward to hearing you in person. I have taken a liking to your music style as I listen to KKGM 1600 AM Dallas TX while driving my truck around the multiplex delivering containers. Also if you come to the area please contact my friend PAUL HUGHES at KKGM radio for an interview. This is something he likes to do when he can get a group in the station. Just to let you know Your song "16 Words on a wall" (Sixteen Words of Wisdom" is the song that gets played down here. Best of luck in your travels.

HEY James, been meaning to write this for a week or two, just getting around to it. I finally had a chance to take a serious listen to your new CD. A couple of comments would be in order. l. I was very happy with your selection of material...quality and variety are important, even in this modern day of 'dumbing down' music. 2. The music was very well produced; my compliments to your choice of studio and personnel. 3. THANKS for not feeling that every song should have a hard, high ending. It is so refreshing just to listen to a song come to its own natural conclusion without a lot of screaming, sweating or snorting. I think I have told you about the long-time-ago Elmo Fagg theory wherin he said, one time, "For our next recording, we are going to just do a whole album of high endings. That's all anybody pays attention to, anyhow." Looking forward to seeing you on Oct. 24 in Sanford.

Vern, Randall Clay sent me your new project. I was very impressed. You have a very unique sound. One of easy listening with much soul. Your arrangement on What A Day was outstanding. You just sang it as written and gave emphasis on the message. As many times as I have heard it, yours was very refreshing. I appreciate your using it. We look forward to meeting you. Many thanks, Jim Hill.

"I've heard folks say that when you reach the age of sixty life just stops. But I guess those folks have never heard these old guys. I am excited about this group. I have known Vern for a long time and have always loved him and his talent. Vern has surrounded himself with two talented men that bring a new sound to gospel music. I have said this about young men and women but never thought I would be saying this about three men who could be my grandparents!"
